It’s no longer profitable to put forth nuance, when outrage drives more fervent engagement.


Why would they elevate content which requires time to process, when pausing to take that time risks breaking the rapid rhythm of consumption which drives the addictive attention they rely on.


They don’t want you uploading in 4K because the added server costs affect their bottom line based bonuses.


You’re forced to crop and adjust composition just to keep up with the shape of the feed, lest your creation be whisked by on the glass treadmill before anyone can see it.


Of course you also need to make sure your commentary on [redacted] is in line with base they’re courting, but don’t talk to deeply about it, they don’t want any of these issues actually thought through.


They don’t want you to see the reality, nor to separate incited outrage from the areas that need real change. This is why they take serious words from you, words that hold power. An actual outcry sounds like a wine when you force “grape” in to someone’s mouth.


They don’t want you to see women’s bodies as anything more than a sexual object, so they censor and set terms which mark our forms as “inappropriate”


They know what happens when culture develops outside of their grip. They know one day we will realise we don’t need them. They are the middle men of social interaction and the sharing of culture.


They don’t want you to see each other. They don’t want you to see art.

They don’t want you to see the world without them…


They don’t want you, they want your mind and your money.
